ice ice and more ice

Hiking to Cedar Falls
Cedar Falls is VERY FROZEN
I couldn't get over the way the ice glistened in the sun. I tried to capture it in a picture. These two probably were the best I took. :-)

These are the two little cuties that I take care of.... we were playing in the snow. I went sledding too!! :-)

Thanks to Panera Bread for Wireless Internet!

Here are a few pix from valentine's day! Maybe I'll post more. :-) Enjoy.

It's a tragedy!!!

I made a horrible discovery yesterday! As I was leaving the gym (Victory Lady Fitness) - I saw this sign. A sign that will ruin all my efforts at the gym. . . A sign that could cause a rift in my marriage. . . A sign that could deplete our emergency fund, Roth IRA, and anything else. I guess I am weak. I have little will-power. Right there - beside the place where I sweat and suffer to work off those few extra calories (that I put on by eating those cookies) - SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE NERVE TO BUILD A DRIVE THROUGH STARBUCKS!!!!! My Life as I once knew it is OVER!!! It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

Thankfully it is only halfway constructed. I can build up my will power.... I am strong... I can... I can..... No, I am weak. I can't. I can't do it! I need a COFFEE!!!!

Our Weekend

Wow - two posts in one day. Come on - scrape your jaw off the floor. ha ha. Well, yesterday we went to a Xavier Basketball game. We were supposed to go with Tony & Jenn (my brother & sister-in-law) but we decided that weather has been a little crazy for them to travel. And it snowed here all day on Saturday. So, we had two extra tickets. Brenda & Aaron graciously put up with our company at the game. It was fun. Xavier won 71- 50. According to the trash talkers behind us - Xavier played a sloppy game. :)

This morning - Sunday - we went to a church around the corner to hear Brent Vernon. It was really good. He is a talented down to earth guy. He has some new songs he wrote that are great. Check out his website or his myspace.

Have a great week.

Valentine's Day!

Okay... well, I am dying to post pictures of Valentine's day but until then, I will just share the "story." We drove about 2 1/2 hours to Hocking Hills. We stayed in at a "Getaway-Cabin" for the night. (We stayed at Fox Run because the one we requested... had no electricity due to the crazy ice/snow weather.) Anyway - What could be more romantic than sitting in the Hot Tub watching the snow fall. :-) It was fun. Our ears and noses were a little chilly. Anyway - we had fondue for supper. We are big fans of fondue - we have two pots. We had a swiss cheese fondue (dipping carrots, brocolli, and bread) - oil (for meats) - and a milk chocolate fondue (angel food cake, banana, strawberries, marshmallows, graham crackers). It's so fun. If you have lots and lots of money and want to try fondue - visit the Melting Pot. Well, the next day (Thursday) we had to leave at 11:00 so we got all bundled up and did some some hiking to Cedar Falls and Old Man's Cave. I have some AWESOME pictures of huge frozen waterfalls. Last we went to Conkle's Hollow and we did letterboxing. We found four letterboxes. This is a hobby we picked up last summer. It's fun & FREE! Check out the web sites. There are probably some near where you live. (Look at the link to Clues.) Last, we went to Rte 33 Diner. Authentic. With a real juke box. (I spent 4 dollars playing lots and lots of songs. ) It was very very fun and the people were great.

So - that's my story in a nutshell. It was very nice. We needed some time "away" from our house.... to destress and reconnect. Maybe you'll see pix - someday. :-)
