I love N.Y.

Oh - this weather is just wonderful. It feels like NY weather. Every day I look out my window and see it snowing. I love it. It is just beautiful. This is what a REAL WINTER is all about. Well, Matt & I have postponed our ski trip to Snowshoe, West Virginia. I got called in to work at the Nursing Home this weekend. :-P They just switched my weekend off - so I will be off next weekend. We hope to ski then.

There is something mesmerizing about a electric race track. Cate & Connor (the 3 yr old twins that I Nanny for) and I spent lots of time this week using a race track set up in their playroom. I even enjoyed playing with it. Although, after watching the figure eight loop for so long I was started to feel a bit dizzy. hee hee. They enjoyed flooring it and shooting it off the track - then, giggling hysterically. And unfortunately - Mostly I had to be the pit crew - fixing the bottom and lining them back up on the track. Good times.

The other day at the Nursing Home - the activity was inspiration. A devotional - short story - a few cute/joke stories. This is one that made me laugh out loud while I was preparing... I will try to remember it...

Every day, five year old boy would excitedly talk to his teacher about getting a new baby in his family. Finally the day came when his mother allowed him to feel the baby kicking inside her tummy. The following days at school - the teacher noticed that the boy had stopped talking about the new baby. When she questioned him - he burst into tears and replied, "I think my mommy ate it!" ha ha ha ha ha.

In case some of you are just dying to see pictures - this is my confession. I am ashamed to admit it but - I have a primitive way to access the Internet from my home. This makes uploading pictures very difficult and slow. We just cannot see any point to spend more money for Internet access right now nor can we really afford it. :-( sniff. sniff.

Snow wonderful snow!

Matt & I went skiing on Saturday at Perfect North Slopes - in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It had been a great week (weather wise) to go skiing. Finally, winter is here. :-) We went with a group from GBS. We especially enjoyed helping 1st timers, Brenda & Aaron Herring, master this skill. She took some great pictures and posted them on her blog. Matt & I are thinking about driving to West Viriginia to ski at Snowshoe this coming Saturday. It is going to be another great week of skiing weather. Yeah. Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

For your amusement - at the expense of my pride... I will share this little story. I have this habit of not really knowing the words of a song but singing whatever it sounds like. My sister always laughs at me for this. Well, recently, actually yesterday - I realized that I have always been singing a certain chorus wrong. In my defense, I don't believe I have ever seen these words in print or I would have remembered them... because I am a visual learner. Also, I don't really know this chorus all that well. The song says, "It's not by our means, nor by the works of man but by the...." All 26 years of my life I thought it was, "IT'S NOT BY ARMIES, Nor by the works of man..." I really think it fits just as well. And it sounds exactly the same!!! OUR MEANS - ARMIES??!!??!! Maybe I'll write a new chorus with those lyrics. ha ha ha.
