Update

I have been rather uninspired to blog lately. I actually am thinking about doing a blog just for my family - sorry to the rest of you. I would at times post some pictures here. Due to my wide viewing audience - I feel like I must filter my content. Not that it is inappropriate but I dare not expose all the thoughts & feelings to the public at large. With my family I could ramble or share more details of what's going on in our lives without the fear of how someone might misinterpret - be offended - or draw inaccurate assumptions. That being said.... Here is a new post.

Yes - we were without power for about 24 hours. That's it. Nothing horrible. We lost mostly everything in our fridge but the freezer was still good. :-) And... the crazy thing is ... (to those of you still without power) - we are going camping tonight. ha ha. Camping rejuvenates the soul. Sitting around a campfire. Drinking hot chocolate. Listening to the crickets at night. It gets you away from the fast paced pressure of the world. We need time to be still before God - restore our hearts - reconnect - laugh.

Emily is doing well. She is eating cereal, veggies, & fruit. To all the moms out there.... tell me about making your own baby food versus buying it.

She is sleeping 8 hours at night. Yeah. I think I am regaining whatever sanity I have left. (I don't think there is much to be had.) She is so observant - looking around - she especially loves to watch children.

By 5 months, your baby's weight has approximately doubled from his birth weight. If he kept this up, by age 10 he'd be 10 feet tall and weigh over 200 pounds!

You have to almost feel bad for John McCain. It seems that people like Sarah Palin a lot more than McCain. ha ha. Which one is running for President? ha. I don't remember there being "Cheney" or "Edwards" signs during the last election. Well, Miss Palin certainly has sparked a lot of attention and media coverage. . . . Only time will tell.
