Our Mini Vaca - 5th wedding anniversary treat

Matt and I went up to Mackinac Island for two days this past week. We went during the week to get MUCH MUCH better rates. Mackinac Island is a 3 mile by 2 mile island - 8 miles around... on which the transportation is limited to horse drawn carriages or bicycles. It is known for delicious fudge hence the visitors such as us are affectionately named, "fudgies." Not to bore you with the history - it played a significant role in the french fur trade in teh 1700's.... later was a part of the War of 1812. Now it is a vacation spot. 80% of the island is Mackinac Island State Park. It's a great place. Very relaxing since there are no cars/traffic noise. Here are our pictures. We did a lot of biking and hiking. (and letterboxing)

I just loved the look of this little church. Little Stone Church located down the street from the "Grand Hotel."

Playing pool in the game room. Now I know I've had quite a streak of winning luck lately.... Monopoly & Scrabble but I seriously won 2 out of 3. Honestly, it was by the skin of my teeth but I still WON!!!!!
