March 20, 2007, is a date that most of us recognize as the first day of Spring. Besides being an indicator of the changing seasons, March 20 is significant for astronomical reasons. On March 20, 2007, at precisely 8:07 P.M., the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Translated literally, equinox means "equal night." Because the sun is positioned above the equator, day and night are about equal in length all over the world during the equinoxes. 12 hours of day. 12 hours of night.

Matt & I went for a walk this evening. I found it very interesting that my brain knows that when I step with my left foot....my right arm automatically swings to provides balance and stability. Have you noticed that your opposite arm always coordinates with the opposite leg? (Just so you don't worry about me. It was "new" news - I was just very intrigued by it.) Next time you walk try to swing the same arm with the same leg... it doesn't work very well. ha ha. :-P

Do you think that you have it bad? Check out these statistics I read an article this week.
* 450 million people in 29 countries suffer with severe water shortage.
* 850 million people worldwide are malnourished.
* 5 million children die of malnutrition each year.
How much food gets thrown away in our country on a daily basis? As a wealthy nation, what are we doing to stop this? Is it our responsibility as a wealthy nation to take care of 3rd world countries? What is a Biblical worldview response to worldwide poverty? What reputable groups are making a difference? What organizations do you support? (Please respond. This is not a rhetorical question. Share your thoughts.)
