Perspective.... and once again RECYCLE!!

Here is a really great link that I got from Uncle Don. Though it does not all pertain to our wastefulness as a nation ....... This is a visual aid to help you see the need to recycle!!!

blogging

Okay - I need to post something - so that I have a new post.

I find blogging to be very interesting. Some people using blogging as a "dumping ground" because their friends aren't around. ha ha. Other people primarily target their friends and write about inside jokes etc. Some blogs are to discuss, debate, and post thought provoking entries. Many use blogs as a general way of allowing long distance family/friends to stay in touch.

I started my blog for my family to stay in touch with the progress on our house. Since then the audience my blog reaches has significantly grown - due to the popularity of blogs. At times, I get on my "hobby horse" (as my uncle pointed out - you know who you are) but mostly I just post what is going on in my life.

The unique thing about the internet is its anonymity. The fact that a person is not sitting beside you listening - allows you to be totally "real." Though if I met you on the street - would you be just as "real" as you are on your blog. Would you even talk to me? Or does the internet create pseudo-friendships. The anonymity allows people to rant and rave as if it was their own personal journal. Yet, in reality, it is open for a rather large audience. On the other end of the spectrum are those who post pictures of their perfect children & perfect lives. ha ha. And many find a very healthy balance in the middle.

Well, those are my thoughts on "blogging." I do have much to say about MYSPACE - that may be coming soon. In closing - read the lyrics to this song... I often ponder our "realness" and openness in the church/with our friends/with our spouses/with our family.

Stained Glass Masquerade Lyrics
Artist(Band):Casting Crowns

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small

Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they’ll soon discover
That I don’t belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything’s okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I’ll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the part again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

*Chorus*
Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who’s been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who’s traded
In the altar for a stage

The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

Chorus x2

Well if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small

Any comments on blogging? Or our realness? Or the Casting Crowns song?
