cops. pet peeves continued.

It all began one Tuesday morning. I finally found a "new" doctor since we moved a year and a half ago and made an appointment. (mostly because of pain in my knee...) Anyway - I hate going to the doctor. Why? I don't really know. I always rehearse what I will say in my head so I don't sound stupid. Yeah. I know I am weird. Anyway - I wasn't exactly sure of the office location so I was a bit anxious.

Let me just preface the next part of my story - by saying that the police in our little town sit at ONE intersection all day. That's all they do! Needless to say I went through this intersection - looked down and saw that I was going 40 and started to slow down. Suddenly - I see lots of PRETTY Christmasy lights in my rear view mirror. So - I pulled off in this church parking lot. And the cop goes flying past me. (Meanwhile I am relieved and thanking Jesus - that it wasn't me. My relief was short lived.) I pull out of the church parking lot and head down this hill - to see the cop by the road with one car pulled off and he is motioning me in behind. Two for the price of one - I guess. Anyway - I would just like to say that LIFE IS NOT FAIR! I am 26 years old and have never been pulled over - never even given a warning. Actually I basically told the cop that but he didn't really care. I have a "cousin" who was pulled over many times as a 16 year old driver and given MANY warnings. Needless to say - I pulled away LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT and with a PRICEY TICKET!!! The sad thing is I was doing 40 in a 25 - hardly reckless driving and not even a good story to blog about. .... I mean 80 in a 55 - that's a good story. ha ha. Now my spotless driving record (not counting accidents - ha ha) is over. 26 good years. I guess I am officially part of the "club" now. My complaint is that I have had cops drive much more reckless than 40 in a 25!!!!! - practically run me off the road and speed by me (without their lights on) - where is the justice in that... Whatever. They are "above the law" because they enforce the law.

The good thing is that I really like my new doctor. She was very friendly and personable. I basically have "
runner's knee"...overuse....need to rest it, ice it, and get a brace. Rest - not an easy thing for me to do. So - after my traumatic morning - I treated my self to subway on the way home since it was too warm to really enjoy a Starbucks. ;-)

And she lived happily bitter after.

Oh-Oh! Guess it wouldn't have helped to tell him you had a cousin who is a State Trooper in NY?? :-) I'm sorry to hear about your knee - do take real good care of it because you don't want any permanent damage at your age - it would definitely "cramp you style" (besides hurting!) Love to both...

One for not stopping at a stop sign...in fact, I didn't even slow down!! Oopsy! The second one for wreckless driving!! Go figure, right?? Me?? A wreckless driver?? That's SO not true!! Hahahaha!! Love you and see you soon!!!

I am actually starting to like the cops in our town. I keep encountering them at church. In the parking lot.
The first time they thought we were trying to steal a car...my car. They came racing in and blocked my car in with their patrol cars. We were laughing so hard I could barely get my ID out.
The second time (last Wed.) they came by to ask if we (myself, two of my siblings and the Jr. High leader.) were shooting guns or setting off fireworks. Yeah, just like we always do after Bible Study...
